Requirements
- This course is designed to explore the complexities of law, ethics, and social media. We will examine relevant case studies and scholarship to understand how legal principles apply to a wide range of digital issues, including privacy policies, data ownership, user agreements, intellectual property rights, online defamation/libel lawsuits, first amendment protections and government regulation. Students will learn both theoretical frameworks as well as practical applications on how to navigate the legal system in order to create effective ethical approaches when utilizing social media.
