Requirements
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency medical procedure that involves the use of chest compressions and rescue breaths as a way of restoring blood circulation and oxygen to the brain, heart, and other vital organs after they have ceased working due to cardiac arrest or some other form of respiratory failure. CPR has been credited with saving countless lives, since it can buy time until more advanced medical help can arrive. In order for this life-saving technique to be used correctly and effectively in all crises, receiving quality CPR training is essential.
Features
- The objectives of CPR training are twofold: firstly, to ensure that individuals are knowledgeable on how and when to perform basic life-saving techniques such as chest compressions, rescue breathing and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED); secondly, individuals should also be able to recognize signs of life-threatening emergencies in order to act quickly and efficiently before help arrives. Additionally, this training should teach the importance of following the “Chain of Survival” protocol in order to maximize the chances of successful resuscitation in an emergency situation.
