Dog Training

This course will teach pet owners how to effectively train their dogs. Students will learn the basics of training a dog, including how to house train them, how to obedience train them, and how to use positive reinforcement techniques. By the end of this class, students should have learned not only the practical skills for training their own dogs but also have gained an understanding of why and how these methods work. 

Objectives

At the completion of this course students should be able to: 

• Establish a routine for feeding and other activities for their pets. 
• Teach basic commands such as “sit”, “stay” and “come”.  
• Know when and how to use reward systems.  
• Recognize inappropriate behaviours in pets. 
• Understand dog psychology. 
• Create an effective game plan for training a pet.
